Ms. Sayma Banu

Ms. Sayma Banu joined Southeast Bank PLC as the Director of Training at the Southeast Bank Training Institute in 2020. With over 27 years of extensive and varied experience across education, finance, and training sectors, she plays a pivotal role in driving the professional development of the Bank’s workforce. Ms. Banu continues to play an integral role in the Bank as a resource person at the Training Institute. 
 
Before her tenure at Southeast Bank, Ms. Banu served as Senior Deputy Director & Head of Training at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) from 2009 to 2020. Prior to this, she was Deputy Director (Training) at an autonomous government institute BIAM Foundation, under the Ministry of Public Administration. She also extended her influence in private sector by holding a key role as a Senior Faculty Member in BRAC’s Training and Professional Development Wing. Ms. Banu began her professional journey as a Lecturer in Political Science at Jessore Cantonment College. Her trajectory in academia culminated in her leadership as Principal of Rajendrapur Cantonment Public School & College, Gazipur, honing her skills in education management and academic administration. 
 
Her academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s (Hons.) and master’s in political science from the University of Dhaka, and she later expanded her expertise with an Executive MBA in Finance, further solidifying her financial and managerial acumen. One of the key milestones of her career was her authorship of the Study Manual on Business & Commercial Law and the Corporate Laws Manual for ICAB in 2010. Ms. Banu’s commitment to professional excellence is reflected in her participation in numerous esteemed training programs, seminars, and workshops, both domestically and internationally.
